Ergonomics and Design

Mauell sees every component of a control room as part of a system that works together. A change in that system independent of the other components can negatively affect the entire operation. For example, adding a video display wall without acknowledging correct sightlines from operator consoles can cause head and neck injuries over time. Mauell uses ergonomics to evaluate and measures appropriate sight-line paths to avoid potential health risks and to gain a better situation awareness of the system.
